När jag började i skolan och kämpade med de klassiska studierna var kärleken som störst till de stora mästarna. När jag sen som tonåring fick en stor dos av Boogierock från vinylskivorna formades idéerna till de pianokonsertersom ni möter på skivan. Inte helt konfliktfritt med lärarna, minst sagt, på musik-högskolan i den kungliga huvudstaden. Klassiskt för sig och "det andra" för sig som det sas... Men mitt intresse ökade än mer när jag började komponerandet med tankar om rockbandet och symfoniorkester. Uppbyggnaden med huvud och sidoteman och en minikadens är en sann liknelse med de klassiska pianokonserterna som jag studerade. Med denna skiva hoppas jag att ni beroende på sinnesstämningen spelar The ROCK versionerna eller The CLASSIC där jag "trollat" bort bandet och släppt fram orkestern lite extra. When I started school and struggled with my classical studies,it was the great masters that I loved the most. As a teenager, I experienced a major dose of Boogie Rock on vinyl; the idea was born for piano concerts such as the ones you can hear on this record. To put it mildly, this did not go down without conflicts from my teachers at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Classical music was one thing and "that other thing" was a whole different matter... But my interest grew even more when I started composing with the combination of a rock band and a symphony orchestra in mind. The construction of main and sub themes and a minicadence is a true analogy of the classical piano concerts that I studied. I searched for a name for the mini-piano concerts. Since rhapsody means a fragment of different styles, Rhapsody in Rock was born. Of course, this is a pun on Rhapsody in Blue. Depending on the mood you are in, with this album I hope you will enjoy ROCK versions or the CLASSIC ones. With the CLASSIC symphonies, I have toned down the band a bit, making extra space for the orchestra.
